Carrying on the Tradition of Old-time Fiddle & Dance

John & Trish team up with Cedar & Joy Stanistreet to present songs and fiddle tunes that have been popular in New York State since the early 1800's as well as original tunes composed by the performers. Cedar, (age 15) and Joy, (age 12) are the next generation carrying on the tradition. The Stanistreet youngsters are accomplished fiddlers that have arranged harmonies together, written tunes and students relate to them quite readily. Over the last eight years they have gained experience by lessons, practice and performing in well established concert halls and festivals. They have an exuberance and innocence that conveys their love for their craft. John is the instrumental wizard that plays several styles of fiddle as well as several other instruments. Trish plays banjo and guitar as well as adding the dance element to their program through clogging, step dance and calling country dances. John and Trish are the program directors helping young audiences develop an ear for traditional American dances & tunes and an appreciation for our rich cultural heritage.
